I chose Plurk over Twitter b/c I'm new to social journaling and like that it was designed for beginners. The online journaling experience is unique b/c you are able to make new friends and network but also keep your current friends updated with your status while they see yours. I honestly see it as being very similar to Facebook and MySpace but with more status updates. It would be nice to see updates regarding projects that are due or items to bring to class if it is related to school or if it is related to work, it would be nice to see timelines/deadlines or get an update on what projects people may be working on currently.
I honestly am not a fan of twitter/plurk. I think they consume people's time too much b/c people are constantly updating their status or reading what their friend or favorite celebrity is doing. I personally don't care for people to know what I'm doing at all hours of the day. If you put something negative on your status ( ex. I hate my job) it could have a negative affect on your boss's attitude towards you or possibly result in disciplinary action.
